Jennifer Lewis is a mixed-media artist currently working on two concurrent bodies of work.

Her primary focus has been on creating the Star of David Project, a body of work that addresses the human scale of the Holocaust. This project began in the spring of 2023 after learning that her 2nd great-grandmother died in the Holocaust at the Lodz Ghetto from starvation, and took shape from the attacks on Israeli civilians on October 7, 2023. The work speaks to the tremendous human toll of the Holocaust and the generational effect it has had on the Jewish community. It also holds a bold warning that anti-semitism can and will resurface again.

Lewis’s other body of work uses a technique called quilling. She tightly rolls colored paper and places it to depict idyllic scenes filled with color and patterns. Lewis uses patterns seen either in dreams or in impossibly gorgeous landscapes.

Jennifer resides in Chattanooga, TN, with her husband, Rabbi Craig Lewis, son, two English Bulldogs, and two cats. Lewis works out of her home studio, runs a nonprofit arts organization serving local artists, and runs a religious school program for the Jewish community of Chattanooga.
